Introduction and Features
Eclipse Avatar Tracker detects and records the online status of anyone in Second Life virtual world, regardless of whether or not they are on your friends list, or hidden from you. However, the real power of Avatar Tracker is that it records all of their login activity, enabling you to know whether or not you missed them when they were online, or perhaps when the best time is to see them online. Your in-world AVT module records data 24/7, and the unique web interface allows you to look at your records and statistical reports from any web browser.
- Track multiple avatars with one AVT module
- Full-color analytical chart of 30-day login history for each avatar
- View up to 90 days of logins for each avatar
- Integrated key finder allows tracking by name only
- Easily get the online status of any avatar, even if not on your tracking list
- Instant Message alerts when the avatar logs in or out
- Easy to use and configure; requires 1 prim; configure through in-world menu or online

Quick Start
Rez the box that was delivered when you purchased the item. This is the AVT module. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO UNPACK THE BOX OR REMOVE THE SCRIPTS. So long as you are in an area with scripts enabled it will immediately configure itself and begin working. You should receive a message similar to the following:

Adding Avatars to the Tracking List
You may add avatars to the tracking list in one of two ways: 1) Via the touch menu on the AVT module, or 2) On the website.
Method 1: Touch Menu
- Touch the AVT Module to get the main menu.
- Select "Avatars" from the main menu.
- The Avatar menu has options for adding and deleting avatars from the list. To add an avatar select the "(+) Avatar" option.
- You will now be asked to type the name of the avatar on a private channel. The private channel is determined randomly each time, so pay attention to the channel it gives. To type on a private channel precede the name with "/" and the channel number. For example, to type on channel 459 type "/459 " before the name you type.
- The AVT Module will now look up the key. If successful the avatar will be added to the tracking list.
Method 2: Website
- Login to AvatarTracker.com and proceed to the "Account" page.
- There should be a section labeled "Tracked Avatars" with an Add and Delete icon.
- Select the appropriate option and follow the instructions.
- Note that if you have exceeded the maximum number of avatars you may not see an "Add" option.

Determining the online or offline status of tracked avatars
Complete online statistics for your tracked avatars is available on the "Login Statistics" page of the AvatarTracker.com website. Online times are reported in your user-define timezone (changeable from the Account page). Only the last 90 days of data are available for display. The data displayed is collected by your AVT Module. Consequently, when you first begin tracking an avatar no historical data will be available. One your AVT Module has detected at least 1 login for the tracked avatar statistics and charts will be available.

How does Avatar Tracker work?
Avatar Tracker uses the standard LSL function llRequestAgentData(avatar_key, ONLINE_DATA) to determine the online status of the avatars on your tracking list. The LSL script in the AVT Module periodically checks the status of the avatars on your list. If it detects any changes in their online status it records and transmits this data to a secure database at AvatarTracker.com. When you log into the website or click select the "status" option on the AVT Module the database is queried and the desired results are displayed for you. Avatar Tracker is low lag because nearly all the computations and storage are done on our servers. The data you store is saved for 90 days and is not shared with anyone.

Privacy
Avatar Tracker is a data storage and presentation service. We do not collect data on avatars nor share data that you collect with anyone else. Your AVT Module collects data on your behalf and it is stored on our servers until you retrieve it or delete it. Data is stored for only 90 days before it is removed from the server. We will never share information about your account with anyone. We may contact you from time to time regarding updates or other product information.

Troubleshooting
If Avatar Tracker is not recording or displaying data please try any of the following steps that apply:
- The AVT Module (the prim with the script in it that came with your purchase) must be left rezzed in a script enabled area at all times. This is your data collector. If you do not have it rezzed it will not collect data nor report changes to the server.
- A common mistake is to attach the AVT Module as a HUD. If you do this it will only collect data while you are logged in. Please rezz the AVT Module in a script enabled area at all times.
- If your AVT Module does not give you a user menu when you touch it, make sure that scripts are enabled in your area. If you are sure, then reset the script. If it still does not give you a menu, check to make sure the script is running. These function are accomplished by placing the AVT Module in edit mode and accessing the "build::scripts menu in the SL client.
- Make sure you don't inadvertently have two or more AVT Modules rezzed at the same time. The server will only respond to the one with the most recent reset, which give erratic results. Because the script does its own internal resets you will never know which one is reporting accurately.
- Reset your script if all else fails. Double-check that you are authorized to run scripts on the parcel in which the AVT is rezzed.
- If the website shows an inordinately long online time then there may have been a communication error with the AVT Module so that the logout time was not recorded properly. Communication errors may be the result of many factors. We work hard to make sure it is not because of an error of the AVT module or the website. However, there are some errors that are outside our control (such as SL glitches, offline sims, sim restarts, and some user errors described above. We have added error handling routines to try and minimize this behavior. At this time there is no remedy for this.
